Here is a brief summary of the training programmes on offer. We can tailor the material to meet your specific needs.
Senior Leadership Programme
Consists of a series of up to 8 one day workshops, spaced 2 weeks apart. Held on client premises or at a local venue. Workshops cover:
- Effective Communications
- Presentation and Facilitation Skills
- Performance Appraisal and Giving Feedback
- Leading and Motivating your Team
- Coaching for Excellence
- Managing Conflict
- Managing Change
- Managing your Time and Wellbeing
Workshops are tailored to meet the needs of the business. A strategic focus is taken, and the workshops act as a catalyst for decision making and action planning which takes place over the four month period. The programme is ideal for building teamwork at the top level.
Workshops match the Senior Leadership Programme in title. The focus, however, is more on building awareness and learning new skills within the workshop environment, and practising those skills between workshops. Participants prepare presentations to their senior management team on the key issues facing the business and what actions they intend to take/recommend.
The programme encourages participants who may be new to management to take the initiative and develop their leadership skills.

Should you invest in an In-Tuition Programme?
Here are some questions you might be asking yourself – and our responses.
Q. Can I afford to have people taking time away from the business?
A. One participant told us it was the best course they had ever attended – because it made a real difference. For example, all the managers agreed to take specific steps to improve their meeting etiquette as a result of one workshop. And when you think about the hours (and cost) of company time that are wasted due to ineffective meetings – this was a significant breakthrough.
You are likely to find that the training will save you money in a number of different ways. We aim to raise the skill level and awareness of managers so they can get the best from themselves and their teams.
Q. I’ll never get the managers to commit to a long programme!
A. We always recommend that those attending sign up for the programme voluntarily. We hold a launch meeting to explain what is covered, what to expect and to see if participants want to focus on any particular aspect. And we don’t lecture – all workshops provide theory but are designed around active learning principles. Participants are involved through a variety of discussions and exercises throughout the day. The aim is to participate, have fun and learn in a safe and enjoyable environment.
Q. How will I know if the training is aimed at the right level?
A. That is our job – we assess the knowledge and skill level of participants before commencing the programme and customise accordingly. For example, we ran a workshop entitled “Manage your Time and Wellbeing” twice for a multinational client. For the middle managers we covered time planning and scheduling, and managing time wasters. For the senior management group, we focused the session more on managing stress and delegation to meet their specific needs.
Q. Our business sector has unique needs. How will we know if the facilitators will be able to talk our language?
A. In-Tuition Facilitators each have 25 years+ experience at management or consultancy level. They have worked in most business sectors, and tailor the content of the workshops to suit. For example, case studies used in the workshops will be rewritten for the IT sector, the medical device sector and so on.
Q. Maybe I should send the managers off on a public course instead, in smaller numbers?
A. Yes, that is an option. BUT have you ever come back from a public course, brimming with new ideas, only to meet a wall of resistance because your peers weren’t as excited as you were? The benefit of having the management team together on a programme is that you can agree to make changes for the better – and you are more likely to see them through.
Q. There might be a lot of conflict if you put all the managers on the one programme.
A. If that is a concern, then you definitely need to commit to the programme! Conflict needs to be aired in a constructive way and In-Tuition Facilitators are trained to manage this. One of the major benefits of the programme mentioned by participants time and time again is the increase in teamwork. Participants are moved around and work in small groups throughout the programme. They get to know each other really well and it helps to break down barriers that may have existed before.
Q. Managers might be afraid to open up and admit they don’t know something in front of each other.
A. In-Tuition Facilitators work very hard to create an atmosphere of trust and support in the group. Participants are encouraged to take part in discussions and exercises, practising skills in a safe environment. And having fun is a key part of the programme.
Q. What if the Managers forget what they have learned?
A. The workshops are spread out over a period of weeks, and between each workshop, participants are encouraged to apply learning and report back at the next session. Change does not happen overnight, but change will occur with support and encouragement.
Q. How do I know that I am getting the best available training on the market?
A. In-Tuition are confident that the programmes on offer have shown proven results. A number of high profile companies within the West Region have given us great feedback and it has led to further work for our business.
We also offer a full money back guarantee within one year if you are not entirely satisfied with our work.
