About Us

In-Tuition has been in operation since 1989. It has a network of associates with multinational experience in a range of sectors and disciplines. This diverse skill set is brought together to provide customised, in-company learning solutions for clients across a range of business sectors. The current client base is predominantly multinational manufacturing companies in the pharmaceutical and medical device business.

The Early Years

In-Tuition originated from the desire to develop in-company trainers. Most businesses have a pool of talented and knowledgeable employees. Yet many lack the know-how or confidence to pass this experience on to others, particularly in a group setting. Others have difficulty finding the time to prepare good training material.

To help businesses overcome these issues, In-Tuition focused on two areas:

1. Delivery of Trainer Skills Programmes

A 4 day programme was developed to cover the skills needed to train others. This highly practical programme covered topics such as why people learn, how to build training programmes and how to train on a one to one and in a group setting. The programme helped build the skills and confidence of participants and many went on to be promoted into senior training roles.

2. Training Programme Design

This work involved taking the information and skills involved in an important subject and transforming it into clear, concise and effective training programmes with instructions for use by in-company trainers. Topics such as Orientation and Product Knowledge were popular. The terminology was different for each client but the process was the same.

How we Grew

In-Tuition focused on developing long term relationships with specific clients. It provided a one stop shop for learning and development, with projects that included:

identifying priorities for learning and development
making effective use of the learning and development budget
Setting up systems to manage learning and development
facilitating a range of in-company programmes on self, management and leadership development

The principles of systematic training apply to all business sectors. In-Tuition consultants have worked extensively with IT, telecommunications, insurance and other service industries, as well as multinational manufacturing companies.

Our Future

Many businesses are finding it challenging to survive in the current recessionary climate. Cost control has become increasingly important, as well as the need to maintain a strong customer base through excellent products and services. In-Tuition aim to help companies make the best use of their resources, and to support a skilled and motivated workforce through sound learning and development practices.
